Teardrops

Original poem, written Jul 12, 2012.

Reproduction not permitted without permission.

Too many teardrops are falling tonight,

Too many people are giving up the fight,

Sometimes life is too hard to bear,

Too many nisyonos more than a fair share.

With every tear the burden seems bigger,

The pain behind it we can't even figure.

Perhaps, with no tears in this world,

A better life we'd be able to herald,

Maybe without tears we'd be happy always,

No matter what we could smile anyway.

Yet the reality is that tears are needed,

To express our emotions we can't impede it,

For our heart and soul, our deepest feelings,

Innermost emotions and search for healing.

The intimacy of our tears cannot be worded,

For its sensation is so valuable, mere words can't afford it.

The river of tears is forever flowing,

The frequency of our cries forever growing.

No one can escape this inner passion,

A passion so strong it becomes an obsession.

Let the twinkle of every teardrop share its inner light,

Listen to the sound of every falling tear, however slight.

Tears are special, cherish each and every tear,

Cry if you need to, don't hold back a single tear.

Hospital Room

Original poem, written Jan. 30, 2025

Reproduction not permitted without permission.

Late at nite in the hospital room,

Trying hard to keep away the gloom,

Another bump, another נסיון, another אמונה test,

Surely a ישועה must soon bloom.

It's so hard to watch the patient struggle,

While the many interventions they juggle,

Such a long journey, a long health quest,

And meantime we just want to tightly hug her.

How much longer will this go on,

From this hospital we want to be done,

With רפואות complete and no more stress,

The various sicknesses should be gone.

Every breath, every inhalation,

Is another moment of inspiration,

With חיזוק and בטחון we are blessed,

And for חיים טובים we have appreciation.
